The large Watauga River floodplain in Foscoe offers one of the finest views of the famous Grandfather Mountain profile anywhere. The shapes and movement of the foreground terrain draw the eye naturally toward the profile, and the evenings here often deliver a spectacular "big sky." Painted in a traditional wet-to-dry approach, this is the artist's all-time best-selling print of the profile view — a testament to how deeply this landscape resonates with those who know and love the High Country.
