Certified Giclée Grasshopper Green

Cool Greens and a Childhood Memory

Grasshopper Green was painted using the saturated wet lifting-out technique taught by Cheng Khee Chee. The dominance of cool greens offset by gold touches of contrast creates a fresh, vibrant composition. There is something deeply nostalgic about grasshoppers — catching huge ones on a farm as a child, playing with them until they "spit tobacco juice" on your hands. They are fascinating insects, and this one deserved a painting.
