Dusk on a clear evening on the Doc and Merle Watson Highway always delivers a spectacular view of the expansive Wilkes valley below. The historic Blue Ridge Parkway bridge provides a strong dark shape via a "gentle oblique" that lends a peaceful feeling to the composition. This was the showpiece for the solo exhibition "Eight Miles High."
