Certified Giclée Carolina BalloonFest Poster 2025

Fifty Years of Lift

The Carolina BalloonFest 2025 Giclée Print was commissioned to honor the 50th anniversary of the event. At twenty-two years old, forty-four years ago, a hot air balloon watercolor was submitted to The Balloon Works committee for an art-design position — a nice rendering, but significantly underqualified for the role. It forged a lasting connection to ballooning, the Love Valley area, and the colorful personalities accompanying both. Many years later comes the opportunity to reflect artistically on that journey with a stronger portfolio — and pride in being a Statesville-Iredell County native and in the long history of this unique sport that brings such life and excitement to the region.
