Like most working farms in the midst of a growing resort area, the Brown Farm in Deep Gap will soon be a vestige of the past. Now surrounded by old and new Highway 421, the once-full cattle lots grow wildflowers. This painting was completed in a traditional wet-to-dry approach with some gouache spattering in the foreground — a quiet tribute to a landscape in transition.
